Is it bad that I hate horror games that don't let you defend yourself?
The title says it all, why am I asking this to random people? Cause I have freedom of speech.

I am not much of a fan of those types of games either.

I don't understand how people can find funny that things, I want to destroy and kill ♥♥♥♥, not run from them like in real life

What is there to be afraid of if you can fight back and kill everything that threatens you...

Horror games that have an effectice combat system bore me...

-Silent Hill 2
-Amnesia
-Alien Isolation (before you get the flamethrower)

These games don't emphasize on combat, which is why they're pretty scary.

I am not those people who complain about how you should kill everything, I am one of those people who appreciate survival horror combat like Resident Evil REmake, Silent Hill, & Solarix, if I can only knock them back or temporarily take them down I AM FINE WITH THAT, I just hate it when I have to run away & immediately die within one hit after being jumpscared, to me if you remove the survival horror aspect (Not just the combat, the medkits, & the batteries or oil that fuels a lantern or flashlight.) It makes it a glorified walking simulator which I dread, Survival Horror IS scary, when done right, I had my heart beating in the Resident Evil REmake when I was trying to shoot down a zombie with weak pistol bullets & while confronting fast scary looking infected Cerberus dogs, not every Survival Horror game has you killing everything that threatens you, I just really hate games like Amnesia, SOMA, & almost every pretentious indie/early access first person horror games where you run away, listen to pretentious story, & die within one hit, cause that's REALLY fun, look, I can enjoy atmospheric games that are slow, but I can't enjoy pretentious or boring walking simulators that give you ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ to do. (Hell, even in Penumbra you are able to knock an enemy back with a pickaxe without being overpowered.)

I just started playing it so I don't have a firm opinion on it :P

But so far it's really good.
Yeah I hate those games. I mean I can understand if they make a point that whatever is chasing you CAN'T be killed, or allow you to try to find out it doesn't work, but many of them just put you in the role of "running whimp that never tries".

I've seen so many of these games where you go running by all kinds of things that could be used as weapons including ACTUAL weapons. So it just turns it from a scary game to something forced and uncreative. People can mention "that wasn't the idea" all they want, it just doesn't work for me.

Putting someone in the role of "helpless meatbag" to seem "scary" just seems like a copout to me.

Of course you will be scared if you never get a chance to fight back... Personally I like a game that can still be scary while letting you fight. Silent Hill up to 4 was great with this. Same thing with Resident Evil 4.

What's there to be afraid of if you can live without even fighting for it?

Would you want to live in a world where 3.5 billion men all like the same woman and 3.5 billion women all like the same man?

So no, having different preferences is a good thing. It only becomes a bad thing when they're a massive idiot who fails to realize that and tries to impose their preferences on everyone.

Freedom of speech laws restrict the government from censoring you. They say absolutely nothing about private corporations censoring people on their own property. Don't try to exercise rights you don't have, it'll only get you a community ban as the ultimate proof of you being wrong.

Hate is a big word, but I personally dont like those games too. I still think the old Aliens vs Predators are one the best horror games. That Nosferatu game is pretty cool too. I wish they would make new ones of those games with updated graphics but keeping the gameplay.

Freedom of speech doesn't exist.

But to your question: No, it's obviously perfectly fine having your own opinions.
