new ISP, half of games don't work...

So my parents switched to a new ISP due to prices and I have alot of games that suffer from that ( and applications) such as battle.net ( connection issues which makes hearthstone and overwatch unplayable except random times where it connects )
also elder scrolls online having connectivity issuses as i have to try connecting like 20 times till i actually get inside the game only to get stuck on one of the loading screens forever...

I have normal pings as usual and using a VPN ( not on steam ofcourse ) I can connect to battle.net freely, works on elder scrolls online too but sadly freezes as soon as i enter the game...

same login problem with guild wars 2 where i have to try many times and randomly it connects

I can't tell when it connect it is totally random which makes it super weird i am just not sure whats happening...

I have alredy called the ISP only to get the answer " we do not support games " which shows what a garbage company they are ( or atleast the one i spoke with )

anyway all games do work with the VPN ( except ESO freeze problem for some reason ) and i am not really sure what VPN changes except location since it does fix my problem but with higher pings which makes all my games except hearthstone unplayable...

anyone got a clue on what can i do to fix this? any kind of tweaks or stuff i can try?



BTW games that do work without a problem are league of legends and world of tanks, ESO and guild wars 2 work just fine inside the game if i can finally log in after so many attempts but logging in is the problem, I also get an SMS autentication to guild wars 2 every time i log in even though my IP stays the same and havent changed for a long time ( both external and internal )

Probably enough to simply change your DNS. Google has one for free, IPv4 8.8.8.8
•8.8.4.4
IPv6-2001:4860:4860::8888
•2001:4860:4860::8844

then you also got DNS services.

MMORPG's or MMO's tend to dislike VPN's depends on how good it is, I assume it is a service you used, there are great ones and terrible, you will need to look up which ones are good and bad and what you need. Maybe you can google your ISP and find others who had similar issues and who probably came up with solutions to work around it.

should be automatic, might need to restart connection, try and see if it works.

It could also be the VPN you said you were using. Have you tried with out the VPN?

DNS doesn't help your network. The purpose of DNS is to find the address of servers. It does not improve your connection to them.

The only way to really fix a shoddy ISP is to get a better one.

without VPN i have trouble to log in to the game... with vpn it log in every time instantly

it works on both. Again, it does not cost or any risk to test it, just type in a throw away email if worried but they do not spam you so yeah.

also just to note when hearthstone doesn't work on my computer it also doesn't work on my phone with wifi so it is def something with this ISP...

on speedtest I get 8 ping DL 84.88 Mbs UP 2.04

pingtest only has jerusalem so my ping is a little higher ( 16 ping ),
packet loss : unable to test
jitter : 4ms
grade B*
HOT NET internet service 2.6/5

have tried both and nothing... disabling windows firewall and bitdefender ( which i dont even have a firewall on ) did not help...

would need to know your ISP and check what they do and how and then find a solution.

edit; if willing to share that, also try google them yourself? if not.

my ISP is HOT NET and i have alredy tried googling for them but not alot of people game here so i could not find much information

It's gotta be the VPN then.

Which Battlenet servers? If you are connecting to faraway ones, that is also an issue.
