How come that Lawbreakers died down, while Apex: Legends succeeded?
While they are diffrent genre games, both came in oversaturated market at their own time, yet Law-Breakers died in days, while Apex is basically new fortnite Thanks for driving all the kids away, lol
Why is it so?

If I recall lawbreakers was delayed several times, leaving people frustrated while Apex just sort of...appeared, generating news headlines and giving the game tons of attention.

I don't think Apex: Legends was released in an over saturated market. At the time, there was only two big games of that genre: Fortnite and PUBG. They are also free to play. Apex also had uniqueness to it.

Lawbreakers was just a run of the mill, competitive shooter. There were dozens of the out at that time and more in the works. It also didn't offer anything unique, other then lack of gravity and it wasn't that exciting. It also cost money to buy it.

There are likely many more differences between what happened with one, then what happened with the other.

Apex Legends is based on an already established IP, has the backing of EA, is available on almost every next-gen platform, and so on. Plus, it's free.

Lawbreakers was $30 if I remember correctly, was backed by some guy named Cliffy B, was only available on PC and PS4 (literally the two worst platforms for the game), and was an entirely new IP that looked uninteresting.

No Origin for the PC.

So PC is one of the worst platforms for a competitive shooter now?

Thanks for putting words in my mouth. I said that only because Cliffy was a jerk to PC gamers, and PS4 players have likely never heard of him. Why release a product on platforms with consumers that either dislike or have never heard of you?

I'll admit, poor choice of words on my part.

Right, makes more sence now, I though you were just crapping on PC base :P

I didn't put words in your mouth I quoted you.

It didn't make sense. Thank you for the clarification.
Lawbreakers was a lot of fun, it was a really well made game.
It's a real shame that it died because i was having a lot of fun with it.
Now it's become a big joke online with morons who didn't even play it saying things like "Huhuh it sucked that's why it failed".
It was pretty cool.
Maybe because people thought it was too similar to Overwatch even though it isn't really.

The devs bailed on it way too soon, they had a solid foundation. If they'd have made it free to play i think it would have took off.

Then again, Evolve was a great game when it became F2P, but in the end, there were not enough people to play it and it was shut down. I doubt it would have been any diffrent for Lawbreakers.

You're probably right. Lawbreakers was a pretty high profile release when it came out so the devs wouldn't have been happy with only a couple of thousand regular players. Smaller indie PVP games survive for years with a small player base but i guess they expected Lawbreakers to have as many players as Overwatch which was never going to happen.
I'm still gutted about it though i feel like i wasted my money.

i do remember that a lott of people wanted this to fail for some reason (just look at random article about it and you will se some people hoping it to die off)? and like Spawn of Toro mention it cost money, where the other one was free. It was probably to steep hill to climb for that company.
