What video game console has the dumbest name in your opinion?

For me it's the Super Nintendo Entertainment System. If you didn't know what Nintendo was you'd think it was some sort of high-end luxury vehicle infotainment system. Dishonourable mention to the X-Box Series X or whatever.

Game Cube is the best named console.

If you want weird names for gaming machines just look at how japanese Manifacturer named their arcade systems.

Sega Dreamcast arcade equivalent was called the sega Naomi ,

Taito arcade system had something called the Taito Type X3 and X4.

there is also another system which was called the Atomiswave ...

I guess not all of them could have name like Neo Geo or Capcom Play System.

To be fair though many of the western manufactureres had names but never carried them past prototyping and development.

The Atari VCS (or was it one of the chips inside?) was named Stella after one guy's bicycle there.

The chips in the Commodroe Amiga had some funny names too. There's more than this but I can't remember them offhand.

It's my favorite model of paintbrush but sharing the name with a console kinda puts a damper on it.

This is the correct answer to the OP question.

Why 360? Because Xbox was competing with the Playstation 3. They couldn't very well market an XBox 2 against a Playstation 3, could they? 3 is bigger than 2. That's the stupid reason.

Why "One" same. It should have been the "720".

Xbox generational naming conventions started with an idiotic decision -- they wouldn't be one-upped by the number "3" -- and they decided to stay idiotic, because the people in their marketing department are idiots. So every Xbox console besides the first one has a stupid name.

(Edit: I see Irene already answered the question, only without as much burning hate for the stupid people at Microsoft.)
