im actually really worried about your issue, i hope it can be resolved really soon.

And stop using cleaning programs.
Yeah, same here. I think this could be the first time someone's screwed up so badly while cleaning out their hard drive, so, I guess when it's all said and done, I will invite all of Steam to laugh at me.
I have done this already with Left 4 Dead 2, and Gmod. This has not fixed my issues, so i'm wondering if it's a program the Source games are, or were, dependant on.
Yeah, here's the other sort of screw up. I uninstalled the IOBit software after I realized I had screwed up, and then, hours later, I find out there's a restore function on it to undo whati t had done. I do have system restore points, but I am very unsure if those will fix anything. I suppose it's worth a shot. Will do it tonight.
Well first, I'm going to try to verify intrgrity one last time on a random bit of software JUST in case. If all else fails, a system restore is in the books. Thank you so much, guys. :P
It didn't work. System restore failed to recover a file from back before I installed Spybot. so I think I'm still stuck with broken Source games. I'd reinstall my OS if I hadn't lost the disk to it, to see if maybe I just messed up something that the games needed from my system, since all my games are on a seperate drive from the C:\ drive.
actually, I THINK I figured it out. While troubleshooting a crash log with Payday 2 devs, after having the same issue with the game, we both noticed that the crash.txt file specified that my Nvidia card was running on 'version 0.0.0.0', which immediately told us that something happened with the graphics dfriver for my GTX 1070, despite it 'working', and it confused the games. I got the newest version installed. And while I DO have yet to test it, so far, things are looking up, since Payday 2 has started working since then.
