Reindeer in Scandinavia
Gazelle and Camel in Northern Africa
Now, about those meatballs in gravy (the aforementioned "f a g g o t s"), I used to cook that for supper at least every couple of months; it's really good over wide egg noodles. I never knew it had the same name as a bundle of sticks or a lit cigarette, though.
Just out of curiosity, how many of us have had a battered, deep-fried meatball on a stick? The Sons of Norway (a local club) call that a "viking" and sell them at our state fair every year.
My favorite being double bacon BBQ chili cheeseburgers with all-meat chili...
This is why we abduct so many cows from your planet, they are so damn tasty!
Hell yeah!
And I wouldn't call that ghetto, because it is classy as f**k! Some real food ingenuity right there!
Rich people are too busy drinking cat crap coffee, and eating raw fish eggs to realize the complex flavors of things like Macaroni, cheese, and chili combos.
Second, the pilgrims never farmed them, they were WILLFULLY AND MALICIOUSLY EXTERMINATED by the US government in the latter half of the nineteenth century to help pacify the indigenous peoples of the North American plains. The only reason any survived at all is the enormous amount of land area in the center of North America which lies on both sides of the US-Canadian border.
Third, some people actually do farm them, which is why you can sometimes find places that serve their meat, but there are also some living in the wild, mostly in national parks like Yellowstone.
I had a bisonburger once at a place called "Gritty's" in Maine (weirdly enough, they got their meat from Montana, where I live 8=] ); it's leaner and more flavorful than beef, and I thought it also tasted better.
Great snack for less than a buck-fifty!
Eggs and salsa!
Spam, spam, spam, spam, eggs, and spam!
One and a half cups of cooked Minute Rice, half a cup of shredded cheddar, and half a cup of diced spam!
Not really exotic, yeah, but simple and flavorful.
