Then next week another pitbull will randomly murder its owner and the same cycle will repeat again.
IMO the pitbulls should be bred to be even more murderous so they kill their owners more frequently. Then they can become a force of Darwinism.
Even with that experience, I don't think you should ban the breed because of that incident.
They are liable. They can even go to jail.
People put too much faith in training a pitbull. Okay, the dog is trained and you're an awesome owner. The problem is genetic. It only took 46 posts for Chaos tell us a tale of pitbull woe. And I've heard it many times before. Great owner, bad outcome.
That was one occurrence
Yeah but look. See [article]
Spoken like a true Fedditor
In the wild cats will frequently abandon their children once they reach a certain age. So its not like they have families as humans understand the term. Also they don't have pack leaders like dogs do, which is interesting when you combine that with the fact that there are no reported deaths by bobcat - apparently ever. In all of recorded history.
This is despite the fact that some people do keep bobcats as pets. Because they are giant cats this requires a license. (personally I would love to have a pet bobcat but my house is too small and the license sounds like too much trouble)
I just think it's funny that these little muscle-bound dogs murderize so many people but bobcats have never killed anyone that we know of. I would think the bobcat would be the more dangerous animal but there's the aggression which makes pitbulls much more dangerous.
Also I think you're missing the point of companion pets. Both the human and the pet develop a friendship for each other. If we could ask them if they feel better off I think they would say yes.
As for the attacks, were any investigations done to determine why the dogs attacked? How were the dogs raised? Were they beaten/starved/chained up in the backyard?
Doggos need to be socialized, taken for daily walks. Some people think they can just keep a dog in the backyard and everything is fine, no it is not.
Sounds harsh? I don't care.
At first I was for banning them... after this thread I'm all for total eradication.... agree.
Mr Worldwide is an international treasure.
I think they need to increase prison sentences for people who's dog harms someone. If you own a dog you should have it under control. The mail companies should be able to blacklist houses that have aggressive dogs and so on.
Kinda like banning college students from the roofs of buildings during exam week. You can whine that it's not the building's fault, or you can appreciate that you've stopped enabling suicide.
You can whine they're just going to OD on pills instead, but in either case you've done what you can.
