Did anyone grew up watching cartoons pre-2000's?
Something about old cartoons (particularly the 90's) just looks so much better to today's cartoons. Even the story telling is different.

I have used to watch My Little Pony, Tom & Jerry, Pixie & Dixie, and something about dinosaurs; Yes, all of them were cartoons.

Do those qualify, or are they considered as the modern ones?

Either way, it doesn't really matter.
Children nowadays prefer action, fast paced ones over deep stories, and it shows on their behavior. Hasty, impulsive, constantly up to something silly.. Some do, in fact, never learn.
.. I guess.
I grew up watching Looney Tunes, Merrie Melodies, and MGM cartoons on TV.
I watched tons of old cartoons.
They looked even better back then.
Hand drawn animation was labor intensive, but it produced wonderful results.

Heck yes. I was lucky enough to be a kid during prime cartoon times.

He-Man, TMNT... I used to fight with my little sister because My Little Pony came on at the same time as the Super Mario Bros. Super Show. We were supposed to take turns but what kid can remember all the way back to yesterday?

Darkwing Duck, Duck Tales, Gummybears, Alvin and the Chipmunks, Muppet Babies, Beetlejuice, Inspector Gadget, Garfield and Friends, Thundercats, Pirates of Darkwater, Chip n' Dale Rescue Rangers. I can hear every one of those theme songs just typing their names out.

Further into the 90s I was getting to be an older kid but Nickelodeon was on a lot. Aaa! Real Monsters, Rocko's Modern Life, Hey Arnold!, Rugrats.

In high school I was more about more "adult" cartoons. Beavis and Butthead, South Park, and Clerks the animated series in the latter half of high school. I started spending a lot less time in front of the TV and a lot more time in front of the computer. I think I was just tired of fighting with my sisters for the remote. When I had a chance I also enjoyed ZDTV, later TechTV at this time in my life.

It depends which generation of My Little Pony you're talking about. Actually, the comparison between Friendship Is Magic and what came before in the franchise is a perfect example of the jump in quality in the writing of more recent cartoons I mentioned earlier.

Third generation. To be precise, Generation 3.5.
I've never known, My Little Pony was divided into generations, to be honest.. I've thought, it was always all the same, but with slightly different animations, graphics updates, and stories to tell.
I can't say, I have liked it that much..

That's because they actually cared about their work.. unlike today's cartoons, movies, t.v. shows

I'd suggest giving Friendship Is Magic a try. It was written without the aforementioned age-cap in mind, so it's worth checking out even today. I can't say the same for G5 (The newer CGI stuff) unfortunately.

You know you can do hand drawn animation.... on a computer right?
I'm sure they know that. No, digital computer drawn animation is not comparable to animation (and effects) done on physical cels and either photographed or scanned in. Hybrid media exists, GITS SAC and also Innocence is an example of hybrid cel, digital, and 3D, and to my knowledge that studio is one of the few that hasn't yet gone full digital. There were some pseudo-analog media during the transition, like Texhnolyze and others adding artificial film grain.

Don't know why this snarky attitude of arrogance and ignorance has become so popular these days, it really has to go. It is beyond obnoxious. So many readily assume they're a step ahead, when they're several steps behind. This interferes with learning and "reality testing".
MLP G5 is doing fine. Though a lot of people are complaining about low-brow fart and poop jokes in the 2D series.

Kids these days, trying to act like they're above that or that that kind of humor went out of style... smh.
I loved MLP G1-3. I thought Wind Whistler was so cool, and I thought it was really sweet how Sweetheart always saw the good in others and stood up for that punk Teddy. Long before FlutterCord.

I grew up mostly in the early 00's, but a lot of what was on was from the 90's or earlier. I agree that hand drawn animation will always be superior to computer animation.
Hand drawn as long as the quality is good and the art design is great. I am pretty sure a good majority of animes today are hand drawn. The only problem is that the quality isn't as great compared to the pre 2000's. Even if the budget was higher, the art design is a little "too flashy" for my taste.

I'm kinda skeptical about liking it nowadays.. But, alright, I'll bite and see for myself.
