This is why I never really watch him at all. Ever.
There's only ever been a few times he was legit, and that was with the MxR fiasco.
... very mature there OP...
Meh.. once in a while he's on the mark... most of the time it's just hype.
I use to sub to his channel but he went on a hypocritical rant and that was the tipping point... I'll check in once in a while but mostly I just ignore his videos...
As far as Jeremy himself goes, I will say one thing: he is one of the very few people that I've heard state that he won't play into the "political affiliation" game. He's said in some past videos that he doesn't think you should identify yourself with a specific party when it comes to elections / voting, and that you ought to always vote for whichever candidate you believe would do the best job, regardless of what side they're on.
I respect that kind of attitude, because 90% of people do not seem to think that way, and that's why everything is so heavily divisive now-a-days. Nobody is willing to compromise or open themselves up to the ideas coming from their opponent. They'll just dig their heels in and say, "My side is always right, and ♥♥♥♥ anyone who thinks otherwise!"
That's a fair point.
I once watched a documentary on Cuba. Many workplaces have newsreaders that just read the news and maybe give their two cents on the situation. TheQuatering, like many other of these content farm-y pundits are just like that. Since people here, unlike in Cuba, have a choice in newsreaders, they actually like it.
Jeremy from TheQuartering is gullible. He is easily baited and fooled by thousands of different internet users from all over the world, all the time.
Jeremy earns ad-revenue from dank outrage. One day so many people will have fooled him that he eventually loses all credibility.
We here at Off Topic got him once as well. Check out the video above @ the 6:52 mark
Also. Jeremy does not seem to have any journalistic degree.
Some of his stuff makes good personal points and other times it is just him reading the news.
People still gotta game the algorithm and upload often enough to keep their subscriber count going up.
I miss when youtube was more than just ads and algorithms, when people were more likely to upload what they were passionate about as a side thing instead of as an ad and sponsor-supported job. But now they have to keep pumping out content like it's a daily talk show. That's why there are so many people that used to do comedy sketches and well-edited takes and MEMEs on events, and now they are mostly just single-camera streamers and podcasters for that sweet daily "engagement".
Agree...
Not only that... YouTube was better when it was 95% "Hey, look at this" original material... now it's reviews, comments, reactions too, critiques on this, analysis of that... 95% non-original things.
I've see "reaction" videos to "reaction videos"... everyone talks about what everyone else is doing
Where's the originality?... I think people have run out of new and unique things to do
