That is very very bizarre. Weird
Agree.
Agree.
I literally said the TV writers hate the books. You really should read comments before you start arguing with them.
I'm not even sure what you are exactly arguing about.
Did you even read my post?
I explained that your words made no sense because they based the show off the books.
It was very simple, and I'm not sure how you completely misread what I wrote on such a massive scale.
It makes no sense to claim they hate the books, if they literally based it off the books.
That would be a literal paradox.
Wow, that's naive. They were paid to adapt it. It was a job. You realize a lot of professional writers don't necessarily like the stuff they are paid to work on, right?
One of the head writers publicly admitted many of the The Witcher writers openly made fun of the source material and didn't give a *hit about the books: https://thedirect.com/article/x-men-97-disney-reboot-mcu-update
Cavill wants to focus on Superman instead, which is understandable. Plus I don't think he was impressed with the show, since he was supposed to be the focal character, which he isn't anymore. The show is not about Geralt at all, not after season 1.
Will people even bother waching season 3 after this news? As long as Cavill was there people still had hope that it would turn into a proper Witcher series. By announcing his leaving they might just have doomed season 3 as well.
I thought the show was OK as a generic Fantasy show, but it definitely did not feel like anything Witcher-related, they removed everything that was European about it. Similar to how Amazon removed everything Brittish and European from their Rings series.
Yes that is true.
The logic of the people financing the show baffles me. They must have the intelligence to understand that the main people who will watch the show will expect something similar to the books and/or video games. That's the big attraction.
Thus, in my world it would make the most sense to hire writers and directors who - like the fans - have read/played the core material that the show is supposed to be build upon, and have enjoyed the original material.
In other word, you have to write for the fans, that's how your show becomes successful, gets high user ratings, and makes you lots of money. Do it really well and your show might be even be labelled a cult classic, which Game of Thrones became in my opinion.
Not writing for the fans, ... well, we've seen how well that turned out for the majority of recent Hollywood movies and TV-shows.
Since again, it's well established it was based on the books.
But I guess they lost the plot, no pun intended and wanted to ruin it.
That's fair enough.
I didn't realize that.
Well, I understand now.
Geez, Incarnate, try to be more friendly, it helps your credibility.
AGHH.
Nice meme. Because no human can ever say that and be serious.
