Just had a sleep paralysis episode
I remember this one. I was trying to roll over but I could not. I grabbed my one arm trying to move it first. But I could not really move to grab it.
Of course none of this happened. Just a weird sleep paralysis nightmare.

Edit: I have had a lot of them but most of them I just remember that I did have one. Later on the day I even forget that I did have another one. I know I have had many but it is not a real memory. Just a realization. Not sure how to say it.

No. Never seen anyone else. Just NEED to move but can't.
You know, I think I had a sleep paralysis too last weekend - right when COVID hit the hardest.

If this is the definition of sleep paralysis, well mine translates more in the way that I feel like I cannot move or that my neck is stuck; sleeping hard against the pillow.

I've had it a few times, usually with an 'intruder' (no consistency between mine though). Often terrifying in the moment, but overall once you know and understand it, it's actually quite a fun phenomenon in hindsight.

I think it's the same experience regardless of the imagination because the brain sends a heart pumping and fear spark feel to move the body.

I've had 3 sleep paralysis total in life. The same unable to move/scream experience and seeing ghosts,

I remember the first happened after a long 30km jog and other 2 happened in a weekend, where I sleep too many non-habit hours into the morning. I think it's because of just a sudden change of sleep habit and after the 3rd time, I got used to the shock signals and is able to tell myself that it's SP. After the 3rd, I no no longer experience any.

Relax and rock your body side to side and then roll fully over to exit the body. It gives a strange out of body experience and your control back.

I think of them as lucid out of body experiences. A weird in between dreaming and being aware of your environment/body.

Kinda hard to do when you are still really asleep. Mine always happen as a nightmare in the morning before I wake up.
Happened to me this morning and it happened a bunch of times back then too.

Things I do when I realize this is:

1. Don't panic
2. Check breathing, if normal I just get back to sleep and the alarm clock would wake me up later anyway

3. Move my toes, particularly crossing the big toe with the toe next to it, this usually woks to wake me up.

I call mine Pinky, mainly because she has a pinkish tone and a big smile.
The science is that you wake up, but you didn't leave sleep mode. So your brains sleep mode functions are still running and you are awake but still at the mercy of your subconscious.

The figures are often thought to be your brain trying to admit you woke up because someone woke you. But there isn't someone, so it just creates a figure. And the screaming and seeming vibration are it trying to work through what woke you without context.

Doesn't mean it isn't scary as hell.
I had one where I melted into a puddle on a stairwell.

I mean your dream body. Just think of rocking side to side and then fully over.
