usa, but honestly I don't think it matters as anything that ships from within north america seems to be... I don't want to say overpriced, but I can get 10 from aliexpress for the price of 1 from pretty much anywhere I look. as for local electronics stores, the best ones turned themselves into cell phone kiosks and never looked back and at the point i'm driving to one that still exists, im burning enough gas that even the online prices within na are looking decent.
I tend to use offtopic as a shot in the dark place to ask questions that may or may not get a reply after I exhaust most of the options I know about. I never fully expect an answer, but it would be nice if someone knows a place/a better way to search for what I want.
essentially I am converting an arduino from a micro usb female to a usbc female so instead of using a cable internally and having it stick out, I can mount the usbc flush and use a single cable, the problem is im looking at 8-12$ per pair of micro and c boards.
something like this if you are intrested
https://www.amazon.com/Type-Female-Receptacle-Breakout-Board/dp/B07771CFFM
the long and short is I like messing around with electronics, and have a few controllers that have either cables I dont like, usb b in one case, or in the current case micro usb, or that are put together in a way that I dont like, the current micro usb cable into the arduino and the cable running out of the controller.
these breakouts allow me to not need to desolder anything on the board in the male case, and in the female case lets me put whatever kind of cable I want to use on the other side in this case a usb c.
