Unfortunately my knowledge about Celsius is limited to the following:

"Jessica Khater is her name. Head of institutional lending at Celsius Network, Jessica Khater manages a book of $300 million in bitcoin assets that have resulted in $2.2 billion in loans. Before this she was a..."

<grabs calculator>

Yeah, that don't add up too right...

"Apparently Jessica Khater, 24 years of age, who is/was the head of institutional lending at Celsius, shot an adult video 3 years ago, where she was still studying marketing/financial in school. Regardless of the adult video, which company hires a 24 year old to the be head of lending?!"

I'm going to have to say the casting couch made that decision.

Such are the professions of disturbed ex-Celsius users.

https://www.forbes.com/profile/jessica-khater/?sh=1ca5e803724d

But by now it seems pretty safe to say that her business practices, too, blow. Which doesn't make the insolvency a big surprise, either, in case this is a common theme for Celsius.

"Bachelor of Business Administration, University of Miami"

lol?

"..After being hired as a marketing assistant by Celsius Network, she quickly proved herself as much more by helping build the bitcoin lending firm's back office..."

A... "marketing assistant?"

To... "imma lend two billions monies?"

I have to note that Forbes article doesn't include a specific punchline, but is a punchline.

Soon to read "Under 30, doing 30."
I wander what was I involved in the hiring process? Work history doesn't exactly scream compitancy in economic management.

dollar is doing great! And wages are through the roof!
Question, what happens when the American 10Y bonds reach 8? It's on 3.48 AFAIK.

What happens when the US deficit keeps growing and growing?

Well it's not only the deficit that's just messing up whatever is left of the petro dollar. However, many factors might accelerate the downwards spiral imho.

Yeah, should gas hit $10+ a gallon or even $7 plus Ukraine.

Well it all depends if the White House, Wall Street, the Pentagon, Blackrock, Vanguard, State Street, Alphabet, Amazon, Apple, Microsoft, etc. Have finally learned how to play "poker", instead of playing "checkers".

I was reading the other day that a couple of states are planning to nip mining in the bud. Power grids can't handle the load.

Yeash. It's hard to believe a fake blob of code is inconveniently causing brownouts and putting people at risk.

Yeash. It's hard to believe a fake blob of code is inconveniently causing brownouts and putting people at risk.

People have been trying to raise awareness about the sagging power grid for decades. The worn out powerline hooks from around where the Califonia wildfires started have become a good illustration of that. https://data.nbcstations.com/national/KNTV/seanmyers/pge_hooks_grid/assets/still-1.jpg

The infrastructure is in such a sorry state that a complete, nationwide refurbish costing trillions is becoming more and more urgent every year. Aside from blockchain computations, the extra load from the spread of electric cars and air conditioner use as climate change-driven summers get more brutal is only adding to the strain.

Though there are legitimate non-greenwashing efforts to optimize and streamline the paradigm.

The energy industry should be nationalised.

How much energy goes to the export market when it's needed at home?

There will be an increased burden on electricity infrastructure with the shift to EVs yet foreign owned companies don't want to put in the investment.

These foreign companies also hold residential customers to ransom if their isn't enough local supply because they want the local price to skyrocket above caps, so brace yourselves for load shedding, cold winters, and botched firmware updates if your neighbourhood is marked to be the next in the cue for load shedding (unless you have a UPS).

Crypto is a scam, and NFTs are a scam. They're both the same thing. Non-tangible fake points.

Invest in the markets, like everyone else did, have rich friends.
Modern day equivalent of being sold the Statue of Liberty by a door-to-door salesman.
Bill Gates has chimed in his 2 cents, slammed crypto and NFTs as "Greater Fool Theory".

His commentary will probably spark more sell offs.

If BTC goes below 20kUSD and Etherium 1k USD it's beyond bloodbath territory. Too many people have "leveraged" their investments with real money that they'll have to pay back with interest.

Sony and Nintendo don't really do backwards compatibility. Nintendo wants to resell everything to you every hardware update...
Well Sony do actually do this, but they've changed.

Back on the PS2 it played PS1 and PS2 games. They had squeezed almost all functions of the PS1 onto one chip and done it cheaply which was nice.

On the PS3, ithe early ones played all three iterations. the later ones PS1 and 3 but not 2.

Now as far as the PS4 goes they dropped that for favour of their streaming business, ahving bought Gaikai and sold ports.

So yes they absolutely do support backwards compatibility.

Personally it's not somethign I bothered with as I always keep everything.

Sub 21k USD. Ouch. I remember when El Salvador was buying in around 48-50k USD. I wonder if they've been cost averaging down.

I agree.

Given that we don't know who the inventor of Bitcoin is apart from the fake name Satoshi, any number of unsavoury goons could be behind this rotten scam.
