Are gaming chairs comfy?

Hi.

I was browsing and looking for car accessories on Amazon, until Amazon tried to recommend me a super pink Hello Kitty gaming chair [www.amazon.de].

Now, I actually never sat on a gaming chair of any kind, but the cushions look like a very cool addition. I don't know anyone who has this type of chair, so I would love to hear some personal thoughts and experiences and how they compare to office chairs!

They are exactly that but cheaper, decent BRIDE/Sparco/RECARO seats cost 3k or more.

This exactly. Office chairs do it better, especially for long durations of seating. Gaming chairs (to me) are just a novelty for streamers and look cool but aren't as comfortable in the long run.

I have a racing style gaming chair (i.e. padded with the race car arms that goes up). It is comfortable but I'd prefer the office chair (even a standard seems better but my fave is the almighty Herman Miller Aeron chair).

I cannot for the life of me find a good office chair.

I'm smaller than the average person, so the ergonomics don't work for me in most chairs. The back curves are too high. The seat dimensions are too long, meaning I have to stick my legs up in order to have my spine flush with the backrest.

We have clothing that come in different sizes as an expected standard, why not office chairs?

It's like any clothes you wear or shoes you buy, it's mainly a brand thing. Like eeks dee! My favorite streamer has this gaming chair and I have no thoughts of my own. If I buy it people will like me just like them!

I gathered the info I was looking for! Just another side opinion of mine, I think the design of some gaming chairs kinda seems appealing to me and they're sporty-looking, but I really wouldn't trade my comfort for some style.

Pretty confident gaming chairs are office chairs with a bit of extra bling at a much higher price (although, to my surprise, in a thread from years ago, someone said they found gaming chairs that were cheaper?!), and I am totally fine with my office chair. And when the cushion isn't good enough, it's always possible to throw other cushions on top.

Don't mind me. I love overspending on some things, but hardware and other essential wares, not exciting. I only have some RGB because the combination of hardware I chose was valuable enough by itself. Hell, if getting a computer case with a glass panel was any more expensive than without, I would simply never use the RGB even though it was there.

No, they will ruin your back over time. Get a decent office chair instead - especially for that price.

I've got a Topstar X-Pander Plus[www.amazon.de] after being very disappointed with a gaming chair. Worth every cent if you ask me, but you should go and try them out at a furniture shop or office supplier yourself.
The rest of the money saved from not buying the Hello Kitty chair might be well-invested into ergonomic improvements like a table at proper height, adjustable monitor mounts or a trackball.

The last one I had was... this one isn't ( but it's not really a "gaming chair" ) looking for a good one is hard... most are either super cheap or super expensive... and still cheaply made.
