Watch the event and you'll realise that's the whole point. They praise whatever's popular to maximise their audience.
But you can only get a decent award when you have a group of highly qualified individuals that judge your material. Unless of course everyone votes, but that's not realistic.
Besides, that game isn´t even meant to be played with a joystick. That fact alone only should give you an indication of it´s relevance.
At any rate; it's not all that important what they think. What's important is what you think.
It has also recieved inaccurate, horrible reputation imo.

I dont perticularly like the game(Just not good at it) but its not a bad or even over rated game.
Opinions are great but ultimately it's probably the most popular game worldwide right now.

Fortnite is on PC while RDR 2 is not.
Award shows are garbage anyways, It's more or less give what's already popular and well known pointless attention to appease gamers. With that said, I will probably watch the VGAs in the hope that another "♥♥♥♥ the oscars" moment happens, that and to see the game reveals.
