Yes and no. Yes, in the sense that violating one of the golden rules of commerce - don't talk about politics or religion - so you can use said hot-button issues as a means to cut back on marketing costs given that it's done purely as a means to shill your product will inevitably turn people who might have otherwise bought your product away from you. This can in turn undercut your bottom line and result in you going under as a result.
However it's also a no in the sense that there's a scale used by investment bankers with agendas to push - mostly those who are tied to groups like the World Economic Forum, the Bilderberg Group, Blackrock, et cetera - which determine how much money a company will get based on how far they're willing to go with said agenda. Which in turn means that so long as it's still convenient for said plutocrats it doesn't matter because their bottom line is covered.
In the end, it doesn't matter what your paradigm is. A good rule of thumb is to not give money to people who hate you. And if you have to ask if Netflix hates you, you'll probably never know.
This way the advertisers know what they are paying for.
Netflix messed up Altered Carbon, and for that I'll never give them a penny again.
But maybe after this, we'll know just how abysmally stuff like Resident Evil did.
They won't be able to just say "#1 most watched" then cancel the show. Like they did with cowboy bebop
It's a huge waste. I have convinced family members to drop it.
Yar har harr me mateys!
There are just too many other options out there for cheap or free.
Maybe if Netflix stopped greenlighting every piece of garbage that comes into their office, they would put out decent content instead of trash shows that cost millions of dollars only to get canceled after 8 episodes.
And charging people to STILL watch ads is yet another garbage idea, that's the reason so many people have abandoned cable TV.
Have FREE ad-supported and pay-for-no-ads.
The only Netflix show I am interested in, I can't remember the name of, so I would be spending hours trying to find it. Most Netflix is garbage, or stuff I have seen already
