now you will have to know about gipsy's in our nation.
-> on the one hand gipsy's like jews were heavely persecuted in ww2, so any critique on them, usually is political suicide.
-> on the other hand they do have problems with dutch society.. that are well known. they have a reputation
**most gipsy's refuse to live in normal houses paying rent.. even if offered a house (in a market where there is a housing shortage mind you) they will resist strongly moving there.
**they historicly live in trailers and occupy any plot of land near a city they can find.. without paying rent, and evicting them from that land again is usually a big fight
**this is why the goverment had settled to alocating them plots of lands on a decade long lease, whith the agreement from their side that they will not move outside these allocated plots of land.
**however these trailer parks have become places the police does not dare to venture, as one element of their culture is they not like goverments (and after ww2 even less so)

to give you an idea what they do.. well they do grow weeds (whats illigal in my nation without permit).. they do make bootlet boose, they do trade in illigal merchandise (like fake watches, sneakers, clothing, and food items that may or may not be slighly expired) they genenerally not pay taxes, nor any fines given.. and enforcing those is hard for if the police comes to enforce on 1 of their people.. the whole camp will fight them off generally.. as such there are those with 20k or more in unpaid fines and taxes the police knows exactly to find.. but does not dare to go get it.. despite them having a very nice sportscar before their trailer.

however the real hard crimes, are not tolerated within their own society.. chopshops, robbers, murderers, are not protected by their society and even expelled.. their lawlessness has boundries..

another thing about their society is their woman marry really young (often 14 or 16) despite our laws not allowing marriage until 18.... and if I were to date any of their daughters.. I would likely be told to bugger off being an outsider..
-> the rare exemption is when it is a wealthy outsider.. it is possible that if asked what you do, and how much you earn, and you say numbers in the 5 or 6 figures annually, you might get permission by her dad.. provided you pay the dowry that can vary between 20k and 100k for outsiders (again our nation does not recognise dowry's) and such a wealthy man is made clear that if ever their daughter comes back to the camp because he makes her unhappy and the marriage fails.. he will end up in the hospital (and he usually does if that happens)
-> so he better treats her like a pricess catering to her every wimp less he gets a beating that will break many bones
me knowing this background, know that gipsy customers with a complaint.. generally mean problems.. as they normally hate laws.. and thus are less likely to complain.

well now.. as I said now this gipsy woman was in my store.. she wanted a refund for an childrens autoped she bought 6 weeks ago.

for starters refunds in my nation are only for 14 days when bought in retail (30 if bought online).. so she was way to late for a refund..
So I made her that clear that a refund was out of the question given the passed time..
but perhaps I could get her a new product..
-> to that end I inspected the autopad..
what this customer not knows is : officially I would have in all cases... have these RMA customers wait for weeks till months.. so I could send these broken items back to the factory, so they could judge it, and than send me a new item if they deemed that damage to be their fault.
-> however as our store ordered in large quantaties I knew that if it was remotely reasonable a product arrived broken from factory to us.. factory would reinburse us..

this I passed along to customers.. if the product was broken but not tooo broken. I would generally just hand them a new product that same moment.. and instead of making an rma.. toss it on the "arrived at our store broken" pile.
-> sadly this service we by law are NOT obligated too gave some karens the impression they were entiled a new product even if they broke it themselves.. so also this customer..
Not possibly in this case, the autoped was completely snapped in halve.. thick aluminium.. and bended too.. what clearly has happened was that somebody WAAAY over the max weight of 60kg had stood on the autoped.. (and those things are generally made with margin of error.. so that person that stood on it likely was closer to 150 kilo or more to be bend THIS badly..

so I gave the customer a chance.. asking what happened.. she : my kid was on this and this happened..
me diplomaticly.. how heavy is your child madam.. see this product states maximum 60kg..
she no no only my little daughter and son there (points at two tiny rascals that cannot be over 20kg each)
Me less diplomaticly.. look mam I sold litterly thousands of these, these never ever broke or bended like this.. you may not admit it but clearly somebody that was waaay heavier than 60kg have attempted to ride this..
She (feeling found out but lying) : No nobody has done that.. but ok I be reasonable just give me a new product
Me : m'am.. in this case.. I cannot do this.. but I am willing to spend halve an hour to fill in the paperwork to make an RMA for you..while I be honest the factory may refuse this one too.. but thats upto them..
she : you cannot do that.. you must me give me a new product now.. you did so last time.. where is your manager that helped me last time
me : ma'm for starters that person you now refer to is one of the floorworkers, I am the manager today.. the owner is not in, but he would refer you for this issue back to me anyway.
-so if that employee did that I shall tell him to stop doing that as I handle all rma.
-and on top of that..
by law (yeah I was young.. mentioniong the word law to a gipsy was unwise)..
we are obligated only to make an rma.. that means me filling in these forms, wasting 30 minutes of your and my time, and than the customer has to wait 2-6 weeks before they hear if their RMA is granted, and if it is.. they can come pick up their replacement or refusbished product.
That I sometimes hand customers a new product imediatly is when I personally think that rma has a really high chance of succeeding.. as a service to our customers.. I am not obligated to do that, nor doing that all the time.

so mam.. I am happy to make an rma for you here... if the factory accepts your rma.. than you still may get a new product in a couple weeks..
customer : no just hand me my product back..
me : as you wish...
-> later I heared from my crew she walked out talking a new one of the pile in the store without paying.. and what was worse.. she ALSO took the broken one with her.. so I could not even make an rma.. ofcourse we made a report of theft with the police.. but the police does not dare act against gipsy's especialy the female ones knowing the wrath that will occur.

mind you from earlier in the store I did have her adress data..
so me and the actual owner of the shop.. that night went into the gipsy camp... and found the autoped parked in front of her trailer.. we stole it back.
-> by now it was way to used to sell.. so the owner handed it to his own kids..
but at least she did not get to keep what she stole..
-> karens generally just want to feel special.. so tell them you are the manager (no matter if you are or not).. give them a 5% discount voucher.. and a free drink and snack (that litterly cost you like 2 cents to buy despite being prices 1,00 each). and they smirk as having won a victory..
let them have that illusion...
sure many people ask for the manager.. and rightly so.
many want reinbursement.. and our nation has clear laws on their rights
we have many people very defensive on those laws
I refuse to work for shady shops that try to weasel out under those laws..
never ever have I had a customer go sreeetch like madness and go berserk verbally like the karens in some youtube video's usually is is more a calm but very long debate..
