Best Swedish Pop Group Ever
Not even a contest. (abba who??)

Roxette!

In a time
Where the sun descends alone
I ran a long, long way from home
To find a heart that's made of stone

I absolutely hate ABBA, had to deal with person once who was obsessed with it and played them non-stop. In the end I wanted to smash that damn record player with sledgehammer.

This never dies while ABBA can rot in their graves:

I like Roxette the better, but ABBA is better known.
For me it really comes down to yield.

Roxette had a FANTASTIC lbum with "The Look". When that came out, I bought it on a whim, as I was DJing at the time and I'd pick up albums for use with the disco. Once I realised every single track on that was a gem, well it becamse a firm favourite of mine.

The follow up album was a bit weaker, but they still turned out some good tunes from time to time.

Abba on the other hand, well their first album was a cobble together of earlier endeavour mostly from Benny and Bjorn and experimental. Not much cop at all.

However, Waterloo was a great album right from the off. Then the follow up was the same, then the next, and the next and for me it wasn't until Supertrouper and The Visitors when it was clear they'd had enough.

Maybe because they're younger I guess?

It can often twist perceptions, and it might be that they are only aware of them because they were played heavily on Swedish radio or something like that.

It's not an uncommon thing, really.

wasn't it roxette that performed love in a trashcan.. (thinking about the guitar hook and those two "elevator blings" inbetween)

/anywho, sweedish house mafia sounds about right
Nope, Raveonettes.

They're also a great group. Seen them at Glastonbury before (I think - could be another festival I worked - they tend to blur).

Best song they did is "The Last Dance" _ I did a cover version of that once. Oh and the "My Boyfriends back" cover they did for the Stubbs the Zombie soundtrack.

I was wrong. A-ha was and still is a Norwegian band.
I woke up this morning believing I was an ethnic Finish person living in Oslo, Norway.

I actually live here in Oslo (the capital of Norway). Tigerstaden.
If someone does not believe that I am in fact Norwegian, then the burden of proof lies solely on them and not me.

Edit:

These things happen..
