Spotify isn't a piracy tool like those other links you mentioned.

You are stealing content somebody has made. The fact that is is publicly available for everyone to see is irrelevant. These tools are used to make elicit copies.

Spotify on the other hand is a reputable music store front where you can download songs that a creator has uploaded.

There is a stark difference.
Spotify is superior to YouTube music in every way. Ignoring the fact that it doesn't have a single OST from a video game.

I guess people who have their playlist on Spotify would like to add this one song only available on YT to their playlist.

He finds it funny to download people's videos, huh?! Property theft must be a joke to him! Well, I'll have him know, the Google Company doesn't lie. THEY OWN IT. Even if he saves it, it's still their property.

Except nobody besides people trying to act righteous on internet forums give a damn, people want stuff on Spotify because it's convenient.
Spotify is today what Napster was of yesteryear.

Brand loyalty plays a part.

"Why isn't this game on Steam?"

I hate spotify for nothing more than when people like it, they swear uploading some 40 second clip in a discord thread for appreciating music is useful...

Keep that garbage out of there, we want to hear the entire song.

Because it's a convenient toll.

It's no differnt to someone saying "can you email that?"
If it's an audio file, then it makes sense to put it up on a very popular and accessible platform. Dead simple.

But dodgy piraty sites like the others you thinkly veiled? nope.

I don't see the point in Spotify. I prefer to have the music files.
Polverrati Jan 5, 2022 @ 10:15am
A lot of people purely use Spotify. I never understood it personally, I've always used various sources for music.

I disagree. I made the switch to Youtube music from Spotify just so I could get ad free Youtube on all platforms aside from just using it for music, and it has more content then Spotify, music videos, and I don't notice a difference in audio quality most of the time.
