Welp dislikes are gone!

Yep any video on YouTube doesn’t show dislikes on YouTube now so if scam videos and bad content pops on recommendation then blame YouTube for it.

I don't like it. I think the people who have said it's a good decision have ulterior motives, especially in this worldwide climate of obsession over negativity, it comes off as odd to say the least that people actually like the change.

I haven't really heard anybody trying to hard-sell me on the concept, thus there must be a reason for those who support the change that I'm not picking up on.

It's quite simple, the reason why I love the change is because it makes the whole experience, as a creator, more wholesome. Even as a consumer, I kinda like seeing only likes, makes the videos appear more appealing for some reason. One can always disable visible like/dislike ratios, and I think that would have the same effect most creators are looking for with unbiased feedback, it's just now, the likes are visible. It's not the end of the world for that small part of Youtube, it might even be seen as a positive for that side of it, but as a whole? The whole site full of hundreds of content genres? I'm not convinced it's a good decision.

Positivity is good, but for some regions of Youtube, negativity is equally important. Another issue is that now I don't know the value of each Like, because I don't know how many people voted in general, this can give some videos unwarranted low-trust factor with many viewers, because if a video has 35k views, and only 100 Likes, it's reasonable to assume it's equally as likely to have 100 Dislikes, and I think that's unfair for some creators.

All for the happiness of small creators. For that reason, I don't think it's worth it.

Alright, well it's good that you enjoy it, at least somebody got some positivity out of it, but most of us are still in the dark with perfectly good reasons for disliking the change. Nobody has to be ridiculed for supporting the change or complaining about it, but it's quite obvious that the support from most people is internal, without a compelling reason behind it.
