Positivity is good, but for some regions of Youtube, negativity is equally important. Another issue is that now I don't know the value of each Like, because I don't know how many people voted in general, this can give some videos unwarranted low-trust factor with many viewers, because if a video has 35k views, and only 100 Likes, it's reasonable to assume it's equally as likely to have 100 Dislikes, and I think that's unfair for some creators.
All for the happiness of small creators. For that reason, I don't think it's worth it.
I m sure that "main reason" is not the main one, because every creater still can see how many dislikes have on his video
This seems to be more of an archival solution than something long-term. Still, a good reason to leave the platform.
