Do achievements matter in games?
Or how you play the game?

Honestly the only part of steam I don't like is how little the achievements matter. It would be nice if steam level was tied to that instead of how many badges you craft.

Not really. I use achievements to decorate my profile.

They don't do much, but for some people, it matters for "completing" everything in the game.

Achievements don't matter. I do look at them sometimes to see if there's something interesting I can attempt to do.

Killing floor had a huge amount of ones that I enjoyed. They are just a new way to play old games.

No they don't matter.

The only games where I really looked at the achievements where Killing floor 1 and 2 since it's basically the only way to know which maps you've beaten.

They don't matter and I don't look at them, so they have 0 influence on how I play my game.

Not really.... there are some that are neat to get... but I won't go out of my way to get them.

I don't care about them.
No they don't matter. They are a new age gamer thing. Not interested in jumping through developer hoops that way. The end is the only developer hoop I like jumping through.

Not really. Achievements are there just to give a bit of challenge and satisfaction upon completion. But depending on the game, some achievements actually allows you to get free items.
Phirestar 20 AGO 2019 a las 13:38
In some rare cases, yes.

Games like Risk of Rain and Enter the Gungeon have items tied to unlocking achievements. You have to complete the requirements of that achievement before the associated item will spawn in the game for you to use.

But otherwise, it’s more or less just a bragging rights thing. (Although they can also be used as a means of gauging what content you still have left to see in a given title.)

Not really unless the games have unlocks tied to achievements like PAYDAY 2.

It’s really nothing more than just pandering fluff for some fools who thinks achievements is mandatory in video games and would absolutely refuses to play them if they don’t contain them.

It’s really sad when achievements should be seen as optional activities you would do for fun or as challenges but they’re not necessarily important to enjoy a game.
