And yet look how many months it took them to learn the songs note for note from both listening and reading the drum sheet music to play it. Nothing special about them other than they learned to play a drum cover. Any intermediate to advanced drummer can do it too. Writing an original song and writing the rhythm that includes the drums is a lot harder than you think.
nothing special about them? Coming from who? you?
and again, they are still better and sound better than 75% of the stuff posted on this thread.
I can play a drum cover of December by Collective Soul note for note to the actual song all Im doing is playing the same way the drummer for Collective Soul played it. Doesn't mean I'm better than the drummer who originally wrote the drum rhythm for the song. I'm just playing it the way he wrote it. Nothing more nothing less. Being able to play like John Bonham doesn't mean the drummer is better than John Bonham.
The whole point of the this post was to recognize the famous professional drummers we admirer and those who skills and showmanship inspire. Not to put them down as your doing.
crazy. all that random info and my opinion still hasn't changed.
Again, The whole point of this post was to recognize the famous professional drummers we admirer and those who's skills and showmanship inspire. No one is putting them down but you.
You are both contributing well to this thread and I really enjoy reading everything you write in here and looking at the videos you post. :)
Keep it up. The two of you are making this thread good and worthwhile reading. You both seem to know a whole lot. More than I know, that is for sure.
I love watching music documentaries. Just saying that you both seem like cool guys.
Keep posting finds..
no. the literal topic post says BEST drummer from a FAMOUS band.
this went out the window on like page 1 or 2, with absolutely rando bands and drummers no one has heard of before.
Lars, yes
I listed Roger Taylor
then it just went to the most random janky non famous stuff ever.
because of that my opinion still stand's about the girl's i posted above. They ARE and sound BETTER then 75% of the stuff posted here. I actually think they are very special and very good. Unlike your opinion about them by your own admittance..
Your bang on as Bonham like say hendrix took the craft to a whole new level which requires more then merely learning to play the drums. Its easy to copy, hard to create/ innovate and why we have a serious lack of real talent these days in any field.
I cant say im surprised though as human activity these days is usually about how can i muscle in on someone else's idea, how can i middleman.
You've only got to look at the likes of youtube to see how xerox we have become.
Well the OP doesn't seem to have a problem with it and commented on it. Like I said you're entitled to you're opinion doesn't mean I have to agree with it. Good ""professional "" drummers who write original scores are what THIS threads about. It's not about drum covers. That being said I'm done.
Sounding better from a resonates selling point of view sure but that's not what defines iconic greatness. Break down the music and often your find it mimics parts of others instead of truly inspires something you've never heard the likes before.
Not to get off topic here but Hendrix was a f'king guitar genius taking on white rock and roll and kicking it's ass. Not bagging on Bonham either. John Bonham was the master of single pedal bass drum and doubles and triplets. John Bonhams drumming style is required learning for any beginner drummer through advanced. All Im saying is I can learn to play many Led Zeppelin songs on drums perfectly with hours and months of practice but it would never make me a better drummer than John Bonham.
you don't have to say it. I am indeed entitled to my own opinion, just like everyone else on the forum. your 'agreement' or disagreement' really isn't a concern of mine.
