The main issue would be the price. I could find a NEW iPhone SE (2020) for ~ $300 and that would be fine to me, because this phone looks nice. I don't think I would buy A new iPhone SE (2022) for ~ $300
Personally I don't think I would even get a new phone unless my current one stopped working (I don't like being wasteful), so I'm not exactly picky when it comes to smartphones. But assuming I would need a new one (but wasn't in a rush) then I would wait and decide when the 2022 one comes out.
Its all part of the plan.
Also, android has nothing that matches the size and quality of the SE, sadly. I've been an android user for the past few years and I've gotten used to it's system, but the phones they sell nowadays are just way too big for my liking. The SE is the best small smartphone today and the '22 version will only up that.
So, unless android phone manufacturers start making smaller phones, I am switching as well.
At least with android I can still use headphones and cheap "universal" accessories and adapters without needing a bunch of overpriced proprietary name brand crap.
I used to love Apple when they were leaders in tech, now they have fallen behind even the cheaper Android phones in functionality while charging prices like they are still the leaders in mobile tech.
Apple is riding on hype and brand recognition now instead of innovation.
They went from being like a super fast Mercedes that was slightly ugly, to being a shiny new Volkswagen Beetle that was still charging Mercedes prices for half the car the Mercedes was.
What would you do with $29 phone? Can you even call someone?
