Have you ever browsed the deep web? If so, why?
Personally for me, it was just for the hell of it... I would mainly browse the intel exchange but I don't have any personal need for it. The intel exchange is a little dead so I haven't gone back to the deep web since due to the fact the only reason I really went there was to visit the intel exchange.

Every day, when I check my Gmail inbox or my internet banking accounts.

The "deep web" simply refers to any part of the internet which isn't accessible to search engines or the general public.
I am mainly refering to websites you can only access via services such as the tor network.

In that case, yes, I have accessed onion URL's on the Tor network. But it was nothing shady. The "dark web" doesn't interest me.
The deep web is very overhyped and once you get on there you relize how boring it is. I am yet to be killed by "deep web assassins"

I’ve never been there myself. I don’t like taking unnecessary risks, I don’t want to run the risk of chancing upon something illegal, and I have no reason to go there.

Deep Web and the Dark Web ( aka darknet) are not exactly the same although there is some overlap depending. You seem to be blending the two here and yet they have different uses.

By "deep web" I am refering to hidden websites that can only be reached using services such as the tor network, ZeroNet, etc...

Very briefly. Unless youre looking for weirdness it was incredibly boring, other than the "coolness of being on the spoopy web".

Have looked at both and have yet to find anything useful personally. You have to kind of know what you want/where you're going and you can't search it really, even with the search engines that are supposed to. They still seem to skim the surface. Obviously has use for both criminals and law enforcement/ governement(s), but for average civilians I don't see the point.

For average citizens the main reason would be to talk about certain subjects that the government in certain countries would prosecute you for, whisteblowing, etc...

😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 and I'm a level 5 Microsoft technician.

Also, the only things on the dark net now are fake med sellers, scammers, sick people, and cyber security specialists from different countries police forces/gov departments, who spend months tracking down illegal material, only to find it was an entrapment operation by another police force/gov department.

Reminds me of a news story where two different law enforcement agencies entraped each other (I think it was Russia...)

I can't be bothered looking, but it's happened in the UK and the US as well. Only to be expected really.
I know someone who worked for a private charity for a couple years whose role was to take down illegal images and vids by any means necessary.
They got handed stuff that the authorities just had no hope of finding the source of(most of it apparently) And this was just on your normal everyday internet!

That chart makes the most far-fetched conspiracy theories look believable. I stopped reading when I got to "location of Atlantis".
