I don’t hate every rich person.
But Jeff Bezos is a ♥♥♥♥.*
Bezos owns the newspaper Jamal Khashoggi worked for. Yet, Amazon Prime, another company he owns refuses to distribute a documentary about Khashoggi’s murder.

*And you can tell him I said so.
There are. Read the entire topic. Or... you know what, I'll just link to them:

I guess that's not really a lot. It's only 5 posts.
5 very good posts...

If you're afraid of technology may i suggest you go full Amish? I heard they're having a very peaceful life so far.
Edit: However you're right that AI itself is a double edge sword, it can either make human life a lot better OR crush it in an absurdly efficient manner alongside with many other species in this planet, that AI might deem "inefficient" or "irrelevant".
Dont forget to close the Windows ,such a classic
How is me going Amish going to stop others playing nuclear chicken? Or stop a designer bio weapon get unleashed? Does the world run all the mad science decisions through the Amish community?
Unless anyone in this thread and steam in general, manages to work at the "apex / top" politician circle in one of the 1st world countries or "superpower" like the USA, Russia, China, etc.
Or be able to somehow be a top researcher involved in the new bleeding edge tech projects OR be a top donor / investor to said projects, so any opinions from that individual can change the current & future geopolitical "climate" alongside the ongoing changes to the human paradigm, and their plausible ripple effects & black swan events, etc.
Otherwise, I highly recommend you give it a try to Stoicism philosophy when you got some spare time.
maybe its pressure on all that stuff they do but also (from my older parent's perspective) dying with someone by your side is better than dying alone. It may sound co-dependent but if you've have someone stuck with you through thick and thin why let them go? Why risk finding someone else or parting ways with them?
It's not a domestic abuse or bad marriage (that we know off from the surface). Normal sane and respectful marriages ending in divorce is actually a sad thing to see happen. Again i'm holding out a bit to see if they bring new details like an affair or some ♥♥♥♥.

Sometimes what people classify as "an unpredictable or unforseen event" was actually VERY foreseeable to anyone who was paying attention.
There's a reason that the phrase, "the straw that broke the camel's back" exists.
Whether it be the final boss of a video game or that bridge that societal teamwork & empathy is standing upon... if you subtract JUST 1 from its health enough times, again and again, eventually it will collapse.
Purposely choosing a life of blissful ignorance is selfish and dangerous. I want the ability to know sticking my wang in blender is dangerous and not wasting EMT time (who wants to see a mangled wang anyway). The jester in love and berserker in battle is my muse not the Stoics. It has served me well all my long life. I must go now and have my cake and eat it.
