another good thing about steam is that its a community based palce compared to other launchers or console stuff.
Granted they did indeed kill that service, which was rather stupid (but hey, Sony are good at that).
But I don't understand what the sale of MP games has to do with anything. You can still play online and hook up readily enough with anyone in game.
So it's flawed to say that "ooh no, they're still selling these games" because it hasn't affected much. Sure, if you used the hookups from the in game fora, it makes it worse, but that does not mean these games are even remotely unplayable.
as soon as you launch a game the pros go out the window because in game nobody is going to care about your steam profile unless they want to scold you for something most of the time
