Don't starve or terraria?
Ok so I'm having a hard time deciding. I like both games. They both look really good to me. That's why I'm having a hard time deciding. I love terraria because you can create buildings. In don't starve they offer little protection and get destroyed eventually and you can build as advanced things. I like don't starve because it's harder to survive. I love both the games and I'll probably end up having them both by the end of the year but I can buy one right now. Which one should I get?

Get Don't Starve.

If Terraria was discounted more, I'd say get that, because you get many hours that you can play all with the same character while in Don't Starve, you'll rather get many hours with many characters.

I never realised there was a sale. I can afford both. I'll get both then. I just wanted to make sure I had good games for the halloween holidays.

its just more fun, less difficult (but still somewhat hard) and you get alot more gameplay for your money
Thanks, I just bought both ;) I love building. However I don't like minecraft. The survival aspect isn't there. Once you have your house, nothing can get to you basically.

terraria is usually discounted a lot more during other sales so I'd say get don't starve at the moment.

Same with terraria. Terraria is not a survival game, there are no survival elements at all.

Terraria is far better.

Better combat. Rewards you more for exploring. Better building mechanics. More balanced. Far more content.
While it doesn't have a hunger bar or sanity bar it's just more fun to play.

I have played Don't Starve together but it's a bit silly. I get freezing temperatures during rain in spring and get frostbites. Like what the hell? It was 23 C degree but the rain gets it down to 0?

Combat is just bad in the game. There isn't much to farm.

While it doesn't have the food or sanity survival aspect it has a lot of other ways to make up for it.
There are times when there will be far more monsters around. There will be events. Bosses will show up. Night time is generally harder. So if someone decides to play a Hardcore character the game can get quite hard.

I'm with Zefar on this one. I liked Terraria far more then I did Don't Starve. It was a lot more fun, imho.

I honestly feel like the game should be more than 10$, the game has a lot of replay value for me maybe like 15 or even 20

The only random event you'll get early on is blood moon, which if you're not prepared for then you can just go inside your house and barricade your doors with 3 pieces of dirt. Blood moon is fairly easy even early normal mode if you've looted some weapons in the underground, which isn't that hard to do. Hell even a wooden sword with a good enchant should suffice to kill a decent amount of blood moon mobs before the event ends.

Bosses don't randomly show up early on with the exception of the eye of ctulhu, which needs you to fulfill certain requirements for it to be eligible to spawn, and you'll most definitely be able to kill it by the time it starts spawning, or at the very least survive the encounter. There's also slime king, but he's not a challenge at all.

Night time is not hard at all, zombies are trash mobs that you destroy after getting something as easy to get as an iron/lead broadsword, demon eyes are fairly easy to kill as well, if a little annoying without a ranged weapon. Exploring caves is way more of a challenge.
