Other way around. They farmed the warcraft 3 stuff out to another studio and now have a studio for all these remasters, one that activision blizzard acquired that has a history of decent remakes masters and ports.
The characters look a bit weird, I know the characters always looked kind of weird, but they look extra off in Resurrected. The Barbarian also looks less buff in this version, I would go as far as to say he looks more fat than buff.
The animations look way off. Diablo 2 had very sharp animations that made every action look powerful. Resurrected's smoother animations make the combat look more floaty. I am aware that they've stated the gameplay will remain unchanged.
None of what I just said are the deal breakers though, I would actually be fine picking this up if it weren't for the company behind it. So for now, I'm just gonna stick to the original, at least until certain changes are made within Actiblizz or their franchises are relinquished and given to a more preferable company.
On the bright side, console users will finally be able to experience the game.
Diablo IV actually does look more interesting the more I look at it. The combat looks more dynamic, which is how I've thought the Diablo formula should have innovated.
But I need to play and find out, tho.
Edit: I would personally get rid of Teleport and Enigma, and make it so whenever you finish a boss in Hell or finish one of the 85+ level area's you have to open a chest and some teleport-scroll will drop. You can use this scroll to teleport directly to the area's you need to be. Thus every character can MF right from the start.
Not even new paint then???
very good point
Yep. Blizzard used to be a company I could trust with pre-orders... they have fallen quite a bit, imho. These days I hold them to my $20 or less rule (compete pack, with all DLC) and won't buy on released, let along pre-order.
