One's actual talent while the other's just a genes dice roll
There's no talent involved using already made "art" if you could even call it that.
There's still talent in the art that's been made. Just like your iron maiden cover

I can't speak for others. Obviously at the moment I have a male character profile pic. If that ever changes, though, I can name a thing or two.

First off profile pics are sometimes intended to be funny (as is the case with my current one), and there are quite a few actresses and female fictional characters that make funny faces or otherwise show humor in just one frame.

Secondly women and girls can be very hardcore. Another thing us Y-chromosome degenerates are quite into at times, to say the least. As far as I'm concerned, a woman in full armor holding a weapon in one hand and a bad guy's head in her other is (at least) as intense as a fellow doing it.

Lastly... oh, why lie? I for one like women for biological reasons, that tie into higher-level ones. Us Y-types are lovelorn lugs and some of us reserve the right to a picture now and again to re/activate those monke neurons of ours.

What about pictures of real women who are talented? Guess that doesn't count huh?

You can't really tell that from a face pic

I don't see the difference between that skeleton and an anime pic. They're both just drawings.

Nothing wrong with giving them recognition. I think it's a silly argument that art pfp's are any more valuable than having a pic of your favourite actor or musician. It makes me think anime pic users are inbreds who fear good genetics.

Nobody's stopping you from not using a drawing then mate, your tirade against anime is getting very ironic the more you add to your point

I'll be against anime until I'm on my deathbed that's for certain.

Does it really matter what they use for their pfp, so long as it's not breaking the rules? It's certainly better than any anime picture.

Anime is kind different. I would like to use Lady D as pfp. But just for a while and not obsessed to use it on all my social platforms

Baiting, possible projection of gender identification or simply a appreciation for the character.
There are boys which identify more on the female side and there are boys which always play female characters to look at their butt the second one is actual weird but to each their own
