Gatorade G2 being discontinued or just a summer 2021 shortage?
It has been weeks since I've been able to find Gatorade G2 any flavor.

G2 is essentially the same as regular Gatorade - only half as much of the sugar.

Anyone noticed this missing from grocers?

Seems like the plan was to hook you on G2 and then make it scarce so you would switch to regular.

I hope not - my physician told me to start drinking that because it had less sugar but would allow me to retain water better.

Gatorade Naturals and G2 Naturals did not resonate with their core consumers. Therefore they decided to discontinue those products.

Gatorade's low-calorie version, G2, substitutes acesulfame and sucralose for sugar. With regular usage that would increase your blood pressure. It's more likely to be just a shortage in USA or Gatorade Zero attempting to replace it.

Some is fine, but I wouldn't recommend daily usage. Drinking water is much better for you. I can understand where your physician is coming from with the electrolyte drinks, but everything in balance.

Try amazon?
Or powerade looks like same deal but different branding. Take it with a grain of salt though.

Ask for the home game/kit. Maybe Pepsi Co won't have a problem with that.

Yeah, I'm not into the fancy Naturals stuff. $1 or less thick G2 jugs that have the same-ish flavors as regular Gatorade. It's all missing locally.

A rep told me they've have on/off shortages for G2 specifically since last year and they can't say when it will get back to normal.

** Hey folks! I have a current update for folks being impacted by the very real shortage of Gatorade - many flavors/products in America:

PepsiCo says Gatorade is being hit by supply shortages[www.wjhl.com]

This Popular Pepsi Drink Is Disappearing From Store Shelves[bestlifeonline.com]

So, the CFO Hugh Johnston recognizes that there are Gatorade shortages and his answer is to... raise the price on all available stock.

How loverly. I knew there were shenanigans afoot.

How do they run out of a variation with less ingredients?

Is there a surplus of sugar? And it's just so piled up that when they open the bottle to fill it up, they can't keep the sugar out?

I didn't know Gatorade had sugar

** Update December 2021:

I contacted via email Gatorade/Pepsico and was issued a standard automated noreply response which didn't answer my query whatsoever. I'll try their phone number tomorrow but I don't expect anything.

I was looking on Amazon and the prices for all Gatorade are through the roof. Like $10 per bottle.

Cash grab time on a sinking ship it seems.
