Gatorade's low-calorie version, G2, substitutes acesulfame and sucralose for sugar. With regular usage that would increase your blood pressure. It's more likely to be just a shortage in USA or Gatorade Zero attempting to replace it.
Some is fine, but I wouldn't recommend daily usage. Drinking water is much better for you. I can understand where your physician is coming from with the electrolyte drinks, but everything in balance.
Or powerade looks like same deal but different branding. Take it with a grain of salt though.

So, the CFO Hugh Johnston recognizes that there are Gatorade shortages and his answer is to... raise the price on all available stock.
How loverly. I knew there were shenanigans afoot.
Is there a surplus of sugar? And it's just so piled up that when they open the bottle to fill it up, they can't keep the sugar out?
not ok.. many (self included) drink it because it allows water retention
I contacted via email Gatorade/Pepsico and was issued a standard automated noreply response which didn't answer my query whatsoever. I'll try their phone number tomorrow but I don't expect anything.
I was looking on Amazon and the prices for all Gatorade are through the roof. Like $10 per bottle.
