1080 sucks up so much bandwidth that I don't even use it even with my unlimited high speed internet. it's just a waste when 720p60 is good enough for just about everything.
for games it depends on your screen but 900p or 720p is fine on slower paced games. I use 720p on newer games that my hardware can't handle and it's honestly not that big of a deal. would never play a game at 480p though.
(Random but related funny story)
I remember playing PS3 CoD on an old school tube TV. It was so low quality that I couldn't read the subtitles for missions and I had to stick BluTac (sticky gum) on the TV to use it as a gun sight reticle.
That's fake news and will magically go away with some bleach and uv light.
Stop proving me wrong, I can't handle being wrong and being corrected with actual facts! lol :)

ps: Thanks for the correction, interesting results
Yeah nope, 1080p is still holding very strong. Not sure if it's very compelling to ugrade.
And how! Thanks to gaming's obsession with higher resolution and frame rate, you can still enjoy the latest games on potato hardware, just scaled down to lower resolutions and settling with a low (but still playable) framerate.
high resolution also have the side effect of having the flaws in the game models and textures being made more obvious and right up in your face.
