I mean the OP has been proven to be completely wrong, so i'm not even sure what the point of this thread is. All those countries have access to games, just harder to get them.

In North Korea, the people ARE the video games.

But seriously, lots of countries and locations. Like The Cannible Isles, that island nation if homicidal lunatics who nobody has talked to because they are homicidal lunatics, several African nations, Sealand lost it's internet...

I can't list stuff like the Arctic or Antarctic, because they do have videogames. Probably up in space to. Couple of Switches, a few dozen sim cards loaded to the gills with games. Heck. Send me to Mars if I get that and a Nook full of books.

Oh yeah. Here is one of the very few existing clips of the homicidal maniac people. They do not know what that thing that is hovering around their island is but they don't hesitate to try and mess that sucker up.

Oh poo. Someone already made contact with them. It's the sentinel Island tribe.

Fun fact about MC is that MC is not allowed in Turkey.
It is allowed just fine, about 6 years ago there was one time where Ministry of Family and Social Services happened to say that "it is risky when played online" and requested for it's ban but of course it was not accepted.

Yeah but internet isn't required for video games. That's already been proven.....

Most of Africa.

It will soon be a crime in Afghanistan, punishable by death.

I mean, they're already burning down amusement parks. No idols allowed.

if you're talking countries that have no developers, only a handful do
if you mean just people who enjoy games no matter where they're made? most countries have at least a few dedicated gamers
Brian9824 2021 年 8 月 20 日 上午 9:59
Even countries like North Korea have video game developers, in no way whatsoever is the OP's statement remotely accurate.

I don't know if someone has stated this before... but I think the op's "theory" is based on the "steam traffic" page (or whatever is called).

If you check it, you'll notice that the countries he listed, are all there with "0%". So, sure, no steam on those countries.

The problem is that there's other platforms, stores, formats and so on.

Cheers!

Maybe NK but I don't think any of those other countries have any restrictions, and the NK elite do famously get access to a lot of stuff the public doesn't. As for "Countries" (Greenland?) with bad internet, not only does signal vary depending on region and Satellite is always a thing, but physical games are still a thing on consoles and used to be a thing on PC.

I heard a rumor that the king of North Korea loves The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion because in a propaganda video they released with Obama and the flag on fire, they played the Oblivion theme looped.

lmfao is this fake? doesnt seem to be since its an official channel

really laughed at this thanks for sharing

Yeah and people use steam with VPN's as well in those countries, or use intermediaries to load the games and then ship the PC's for instance.

If you live in the middle of the ocean, you pretty much need SatNet to get and/or play games. Unless you like waiting 6.months to take your meager funds to buy a physical game to be delivered on a supply dropoff or when you go and pick it up.

And that pretty much makes PC gaming impossible. They had internet in 2004, and the pirate bay wanted to use them. Not so much now. Giftshops in the middle of the ocean don't make a lit of cash.

Side note, I would love a Sealand passport, and for some cash I can get title and position. That sounds fun.

it's totally not true, all you need to be able to play games is just a computer/console and internet connection (preferably having a steam account too). I'm Iranian and I've been playing video game since the day I remember and nobody broke into my house for playing games. mind you, There're video games made by iranian developers which are available on steam (not so popular title though) and some are not.
