Do guys still think waxing is "girly?"
I've been wanting to get my face waxed as I just don't like having facial hair. I asked my mom if I can get waxed and she wasn't opposed to the idea but my dad say no because I'm a guy.

I know some guys who think that way. Granted, most assume it's just waxing the legs. You do you.

Not girly, just unnecessary.

Just shave, hair is going to grow back regardless.

I don't know, however will assume that waxing is more expensive hence a scam. Save money, cheap razor and shaving cream.

You could just shave. It's less painful and pretty much just as effective.
Yea just shave.

The thing with shaving is that it doesn't remove the hair root of the follicle. Waxing does and prevents hair from growing twice as long. Laser hair removal completely kills the root lasting for permanent removal but that is expensive af.

Thing is I want to remove the hair and keep it that way as long as possible.

My advice stays the same then.

I don't have the money to wax. And my relatives....they would not be pleased with me.

I'd recommend reading this:

https://www.dollarshaveclub.com/content/story/is-there-any-reason-why-i-cant-wax-the-hair-off-my-face

"Sure, people, particularly women, wax hair off their face all the time — eyebrow hair, upper lip hair and other areas of unwanted facial hair. However, for a man, it may be very painful to wax beard hair,” explains Rossi. “These hairs are more coarse terminal hairs and there is a larger density of them. It may be quite painful, and leave erosions.”

Terminal hairs, you see, are not like the hairs growing around the edges of your ears, or springing out of the tops of your toes, which is called vellus hair, i.e., peach fuzz. That hair is generally lighter in color, less coarse and most importantly, not influenced by hormones like testosterone.

Terminal hair is the opposite. It’s dark, thick, mature hair that mostly men get starting with puberty. It’s also very strong, found in denser patches than vellus hair and deeply rooted in the second layer of skin, known as the dermis. In other words, it’s hair that you don’t want to rip out with wax if you don’t have to. That’s because, as Rossi explained, doing so could result in something called erosions."
Also if you upset terminal hairs, they will terminate you.

Tell your dad to shave his back.

It says beard hair. I don't have a beard. Does that still apply? Also what about tweezing then? I've been doing it for a while. Though I may use facial cream if waxing is not an option.

Most I have done is a manicure and eyebrows waxed, since I took my wife (fiance at the time) to the spa a few days before our wedding. I told her to do what ever she wanted... and part of that evidently was the previously mentioned.

Guys get that kinds of thing done just fine.

Going by your post, it seem you are under 18, so if you want to do it, wait until you are 18 and can pay for it your self. Nothing really stopping you at that point.

Wax is a pain and laser removal isn't really that permanent, it lasts longer though.

I'm disappointed nobody started a post with "Well not to wax lyrical" and now I'm regretting not doing it myself
