Do doves kill themselves when their mate dies?

I noticed that whenever we find one dove dead at work almost always without fail in the next few days we find a second dove dead after ramming into the sliding doors at full speed they always do it the same way. It makes me sad to think they killed themselves from grief 😢

The only bird that does that is the Bay Weaver Bird. So no. They may morn though.

Some birds actually does that but i'm unsure with Doves.

Animals are known to grieve for each others death, specially elephants, horses, dogs, cats, rabbits and birds.

Birds are interesting as they will sometimes even groups together to mourn over another bird (such as one that got hit by a car, you will find them gather around on the road. That might lead to another birds death (such as getting hit by another car).

There's a video of a "Baya Weaver" bird dying with it's partner, however they are actually both the same gender (males) and it's more likely to of died from shock (even freaking out or faking due to the human interaction), if that video isn't just faked by the creator themselves.

Such a behaviour wouldn't benefit a species much. So its highly unlikely.

Usually we just find them dead randomly as if they died and fell to the ground or occasionally a predator gets them.

I feel terrible but the idea of birds flying along and just having a heart attack or something and just straight-up falling dead out of the sky is cracking me up lol.
