Can and are are two very different things.

That just sounds like you're scaremongering.

kind of , in a certain way since mining mean you're probably gonna have that gpu work like a beast of burden 24/7 in hope to just make enough money that it's might cover the electricity being consumed.

Yeah, at this point it really is a moot point. Unless you're someone with masses of cash and resources it's simply not going to be cost effective doing it.

Don't know as I don't keep up with such things.

The last I noted was that it had moved out of the realm of economically viable for the hom user to mine and profit.

Yes, almost a decade ago when the first ASIC miners (Antminer S1, Bitmain also released one) hit the market. About 1-2 years later the mining pools stopped accepting work from GPU miners, too slow.
Nowadays the difficulty level is so insanely high and the block rewards are so low that solo bitcoin mining with GPUs is now futile. All you are doing is wasting power, which you will probably be paying for.

Altcoins like Ethereum still use GPU mining, recently saw a news article about an Ethereum mining rig made up of 78 RTX3080 cards.

A filter shows +1000 entries. It happens.

I thought the mining filter detected elements irrespective of the domain they get injected into.

By the way, JS mining won't take over the GPU until WebCL becomes a standard browser feature.

The filter was about domains.
The browser function likely is about elements.

Aye, that's what I mean it HAPPENS. He was saying it's happening to everyone, or at least scaremongering that way.
