Any Diesel PHEV, of which there are surprisingly few of on the market (and I'm not looking for a car anyways but none are in my country from what I can tell).

-Can take widely-available fuel that creates slightly less *CO2 than gas.
-Can run on Ethanol which you can make at home and is renewable and less pollutive in terms of both particulates and CO2 than oil.
-High miledge from Diesel makes up for smaller tank for battery room.
-Can run on electric on short commutes.
-Feels like you are driving a Submarine (I know early ones were gas but even by WW1 most were Diesel).

*I know Diesel creates more particulates but those are the biggest problem in areas with high traffic and/or population density, where should be where you are using batteries anyways.

That'd pretty cool, especially if it was a proper series hybrid. Also with Selective Catalytic Reduction and Diesel Particle Filters, they can produce less emissions than a petrol vehicle.
