Where's Gabe "Gaben" Newell these days?
I wonder where Gaben is these days as I wonder. Steam (Valve) is doing well as a corporation. Microsoft failed with Games for Windows LIVE while Steam makes progress every year. Anyway I wish all the best for Gaben.

He in New Zealand ATM since covid started. He wants to temporarily relocate his staff to New Zealand due to lower risks because US numbers are getting out of hand, and has been funding few charity causes in New Zealand.

Recently did project wanting shoot a gnome into space, and willing to pay $1 per view that watch the live stream of it, to a charity cause.

Valve staff do want to work together instead of online apart from each other. You can look up YouTube channel Valve News Network which is channel that fan of valve, so you can follow up on more news there.

Games for Windows LIVE store been gone since 2014. But GFWL the service is still up, as you can still login to GFWL in games, as well do multiple player. Please note games that come with the download GFWL are out of date, you need to download the latest version to get it to work in games, for whatever reason, GFWL can't update correctly on it own as fails to update, that why need to manually download latest version.

Just to point out it all ready happen and the gnome is in space currently (and soon to burn on the way down)

Sure, but they succeeded and are doing incredible with the xbox game pass, its successor. Not sure what point you're making.
