Never had an emo phase, but back in middle school we had an emo 11 year old boy. Acted a bit shy, had a ton of wrist bands, and the girls just drooled all over him. I assumed back then an Emo phase is just a way to seek the females attention, as you appear deeply connected to your emotional level, which girls tend to like in a guy.
