Again with the sexual comments...
I think you should just ignore them, that's what they trying to do, to make you feel guilty for eating meat i think.
nah, that's not what i'm trying to do at all. i'm pointing out the reasons people have for eating meat. guilt is not one of them.

It doesn't help that, as I was growing up, the picture of the typical dinner plate was over 50% meat, most of the rest was starchy carbs, followed by a couple spoonfuls of vegetables... if you can find the room in your gut to put it down.
Me wondered if maybe the meat industry had infiltrated our health industry... me wonders no more.

As much as history is written by the victors, it wouldn't surprise me if the whole "eating meat caused us to evolve" is really overstated.

Eat whatever you want. Just don't push your dietary choice on other people.

Tell that to the food industry. Our choices are determined by what is available at the market.
And they all choose to put soy in their products. What if I don't want soy?

"then don't buy it" right, right. That's getting more and more difficult.

Yeah we don't wanna be soy boys.

Exactly right. The meat industry is a global billion dollar enterprise. Production, processing, marketing and retail. It's one long business chain. People forget that the ubiquitousness of pre-packaged meat is a consequence of decades of selling their product. Marketing has imbued eating meat with all sorts of 'social merits' such as being a status symbol (steak is posh), masculinity (meat is macho), health (meat is the only way to live a healthy life), etc.

The consequence of these 'feel good' mental associations is a populace that believes meat-eating is integral to their identity (and gender identity too, since soyboy is rendered feminine) and who are hostile to change. And change is necessary because one of the reasons for global warming is the de-forestation that happens to create more grazing land for cattle.

Humans are omnivores. It isn't a "social" thing.

Also do you not think forests are cut down for the amount of land needed to grow vegetables too?

Do you not think fruits and vegetables are also part of a multi-billion dollar food enterprise?

Lets not forget GMOs and pesticides.

I won't change (not even contemplate) my food diet just because Global Cartel wanted me to do so. Their corruption is to blame for current situation of nature, not cows nor sheeps. Their current scheme is beyond ridiculous to change crowds' food diet for their Digital Totalitarian 2030 plans under PRC's leadership.

Didn't you mention soyboys? The hostility is always veiled here. A snide remark here, a disingenuous argument there. Come on, don't try to pretend you weren't part of the jeering crowd. I even mentioned in a post that I wished that for one time a vegan/vegetarian thread wouldn't be bombarded by meat eater's opinions. They're never relevant.
But soy kinda sucks though. and i'm not aggressive, but certainly passive aggressive but that's like my mood for almost any subject though.

yeah the meat industry is massive and they lock in the notion to everybody from childhood that eating meat is a life necessity and the most normal thing to eat backed up my false claims it promotes health and longevity, take milk for example and its campaigns to warp your mind into thinking heavy milk consumption gives you strong bones and teeth when the fact is its completely untrue, all heavy milk consumption gives you is high cholesterol and increased risk of cancer, but the dairy industry won't want to hurt its sales so it masks facts with false claims to warp your mind into wanting to consume the "white gold".

fact is drinking cows milk is ridiculous but people have had their minds conditioned to see milk as normal a drink as water. Just like how walking down a meat isle you don't see body parts of a murdered animal you see food in different shapes and sizes. Thats what is called carnism.
