I made "Blood Bread" for a vegan friend once. I didn't tell him it was anything more than dark whole wheat. He still thinks it is the best bread he ever had. He eventually gave up on the "vegan lifestyle" when his doctor told him it was basically killing him. Now his favorite bread IS blood bread.

I also remember a story from my friend that worked at a Subway sandwich shop about a woman that came in all the time and always ordered a veggie sandwich with mayonnaise. After nearly a year of her ordering the same thing, he overheard her mentioning that she is a "proud vegan"... So when she ordered the sandwich that day he let her know that mayonnaise was an "EGG" product, she freaked out and thought he was joking until he showed her the ingredients on the bottle. Said she went more pale than she already normally was. He then asked if she still wanted mayonnaise, and she waited a few seconds before saying very quietly "yes please". Afterward she started ordering turkey subs and chicken sandwiches and he noticed she started looking less pale and more healthy.
Maybe she was low on iron. Not enough beans.
i thought of becoming a vegatarian. (But never did) but never though about becoming vegan

And what we ? some of a big person who must change the world? to protect all animals? to save the environment? to save the economy of poor countries? It has been decades - and I dare say this - give me a break. The problem is the result of greedy cooperation and money hungry people. We don't have to shoulder this burden.
What passes for hip cynical transcendence of sentiment is really some kind of fear of being really human, since to be really human is probably to be unavoidably sentimental, naïve, and supremely vulnerable.

thats not cool to feed a vegan anything containing animals, a real vegan that is, not someone trying it and not being serious.

fake vegan that hasn't got a clue and trying to fake it be be "trendy" seen them before, they are an embarrassment to actual vegans, a real vegan wouldn't eat at subway and if they did they would ask the server to use a clean pair of gloves that hasn't come into contact with meat. or they could be a new vegan and too dumb to realise mayo is egg and trying vegan but proudly saying you are a vegan when you're not is cringe.

and her being pale is nothing to do with vegan diet.

And what are we ? suddenly a big person who must change the world? to protect all animals? to save the environment? to donate money and help poor countries? If we really want to see change, then we should change all our current leaders.

when the meat industry is unsustainable and plundering the world into abyss then yes. Cruelty and having a sense of decency for other lives is one thing but when its affecting the world by polluting it thats another thing.
I respect the choice for oneself (without trying to preach it to other ppl and shove it down their faces)

But No , i personally love meat, chicken on BBQ is for me one if the greatest foods :P yeah my food divesity is little

I would be better concerned with making a better world around me (for example, feeding stray cats, rescuing endangered animals etc) instead of making such a hypocritical decision that doesn't contribute anything to the problems of animal abuse that exist in the world.

You aren't, by feeding stray cats you are making more of them, literally farming them.

Yeah yeah we get it "No true vegans" whenever one of the "flock" goes astray.

Gotta keep those gates pristine.

yet they have no issue knocking down gates for people who enjoy meats or raise animals.

we need to tear those gates and have them flood with a little drowning liquid called reality.
I'm no doctor, nor a nutrition specialist, however, I find it very interesting that most (well accomplished) ultra runners are vegetarians or vegans. And they all claim to have better performances without meat.

Does this mean that the everyday Joe should go vegan? Absolutely not. But there is definitely a connection between performing well in certain sports, like long distance running (on a professional and on a hobby level as well) and not eating any meat.

They take supplements, so that's irrelevant.

That's a false argument on so many levels.

I am more fit than any one of my friends that eat meat, I can run a full marathon and they can't.
just because of the vegan teacher, im sorry but i wont become vegan, also some guy making a bad joke kind of explained it so let me summarize

1. you get plants from store
2. you bought them so company restocks
3. behind the scenes they are stealing the animals vegetables
4. the animals die from that
5. eating meat can help due to the new way of eating meat from an alive cow without killing it
