If people simply stop bumping threads that are dead, then we would keep having new discussions to follow, instead of all the old ones.
Also, nobody likes a necromancer. If nobody can find out your problem, or simply don't want to be apart of the discussion, then what's the point of trying to summon everyone subscribed?

I've made additions to months old threads in the past in multiple places, but my comment usually added or asked a more detailed version of the original topic - and I've never 'gotten into trouble' for it, thus far...

I think if people take a year-plus old thread and don't add anything, or simply put a "YEAH" or "NO U" in it, then that is true sorcery

That is not necroing my friend. A day is not a long time. I would say the time frame is two weeks, then if you want to discuss a topic, you make a new thread.

If I may pop in on this*, I have seen in many places, people who have added "problem still exists" with some relevant additional information, without repercussions.

I think if it was just to add "I agree" or something as superficial, that wouldn't be ..nice.
