Rifles can't cut anything, like ropes or whatever, people use pocket knives for more reasons than protection, they're very useful as a tool
Sounds like you just need to practice. Or you can do what I do and use your other hand to open the pocket-knife.
Depends on the knife. The ones I own have a bar on the side that I can push up on and the knive unfolds.
If it is the swiss army knife type of knife, then that is made for two hands to begin with and may be more difficult to open with one hand.
I am a little better since I've been sitting here practicing, but all of my other knives are easier to open because they have a skinnier handle that isn't rubber. But the Gerber is the best quality knife I have so I am sticking with it unless I get another.
No one carries pocket knives as weapons. Or at least most people don't. I just use mine for opening letters and boxes and things. I'd never want to get into a knife fight, and certainly wouldn't try using a knife against a gun. Also no reason to use it on an unarmed person, so, it's pretty much just a way to get into those hard plastic packages and other things.
Although hearing about all these psychos attacking innocent people is slowly making me feel bad about carrying it, and i'm considering stopping.
This is the knife.
Also, my knife has a different logo than the on there. It says Gerber in smaller letters on mine, and has the Mountain logo on it, and mine says Portland Oregon, where they are made. Would it still be the same knife if the logo on it is different, but everything else is the same? I noticed that there are a lot of different knives like that with very little differences, but it is to the actual knife, not the logo.
