Disney is killing star wars!
They honestly are and disney says F the EU I mean I cant be the only one who thinks this right?

You're kind of really late on this OP, but I agree with you. I saw the 7th movie and it left such a sour taste in my mouth..I have refused to see the 8th, Rogue One or the new Solo movie. They are just...horrible. It just doesnt feel like Star Wars anymore. It just feels like a generic sci-fi movie.

Worst part is that Disney is taking elements from the EU and making them worse. Thats the part that really pisses me off. "Creative licensing" my ass. Starkiller Base? Really? I wonder where they got that ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ name from. Inb4 "that was the original name for Luke Skywalker"...we all know thats not where they got it from. Force Unleashed says hello and nevermind the fact that Starkiller Base is basically a larger version of the Sun Crusher and Kylo Ren is basically a worse version of Darth Caedus and Rey is basically a worse version of Jaina Solo and Finn is Corran Horn or Kyp Durron, either or, and Han dies (Chewbacca dies in the EU). Wouldn't surprise me if in Episode 9, the galaxy gets invaded by some extragalactic species, as what happened in the EU with the Yuuzhan Vong.

The inconsistencies are also through the roof in Episode 7. Im still trying to figure out how Rey was able to go toe-to-toe with Kylo Ren and kick his ass while only just learning how to use a lightsaber in like 2 minutes...against a dude who trained under the Grandmaster himself (Luke Skywalker)...reminder that Luke didn't even use a lightsaber in combat in Episode 4, because surprise surprise, you have to be trained to use one, but Rey picks it up like she'd been using it from the start of the movie.

and the best part. The worst video game publisher on the entire planet now has absolute control over the Star Wars video game license. As if it wasn't bad enough that Disney controlled the franchise, they just had to pass it over to the company that was voted "worst video game company" twice in a row....

My childhood is basically dead, and sorry for the rant. Im a huge Star Wars nerd.

Disney said the EU isn't canon anymore so they can take it and rewrite it for their own story (a.k.a change a couple of names a little bit) Just look at Rogue One, which is a rehash of the Dark Forces game released long ago.

For me myself because I like the games more then anything else Star Wars related. I feel it started to go downhill after the gamecube years.

Disney bought Star wars in 2012 , there was no star wars since the original ones. 3O years before
Star wars was already dead.
I may hate disney , but without them there would not even be new star wars.

Disney owning Star Wars is both good and bad. At the end of the day, someone was going to end up owning Star Wars once Mr. Lucas passed away.

But hey, we still have the EU in book form - so it's not so much killing as it is replacing. Which is fine with me.

From what I have heard, Disney scrubbed the films of anything that made them interesting. I was never a fan, though I listen to a podcast where they go through the EU books.

There's plenty to not like with the old eu like the sun crusher and that one I can't seem to remember right now where Leia disquised herself as a dude

yeah i didn't read the leia one but the sun crusher book wasn't too bad, but the fact that kyp got away with killing billions is dumb though

The Crystal Star should have been longer/several books. What happened was it was like Elephant by Gus Van Sant, you end up not caring about anyone.

They weren't. George Lucas has said many times before that if he could, he would've sledgehammer'd all the physical copies of that special.
