I'm sorry. I'll leave it. It's just these you-threads that freak me out. What do you like, what do listen to, what do you see, what's your favorite colour? Arrh! That's something you normally ask your friends. You don't go around asking strangers all sorts of personal questions. It´s gets under your skin to post that in public.
You have to put your private things on the internet, because some guy doesn't know how to speak with it's friends in private. Oh, come on. We don't have time for that. The whole world does not have to see your taste in music.

It would be a good thing, if he makes an effort to talk with his friends about his taste in music. In private. It's something personal, from him. I don't need that, and the whole world doesn´t have to know it.

And yes. I am probably over-reacting. But it´s the same with the people that talk about their feelings, their friends, their medical conditions, what happened at school, or what their dads told to them, and whatnot. I´m not their doctor. I can´t help them with that. He should talk with real people in his life, not some avatar on the internet. He could come in contact with all sorts of weirdo´s.

So yeah. Don´t ask such personal questions in public. It´s no place for it.

Total over-reaction. Music tastes is not a 'personal question' and can trigger discussion, debate and perhaps even get someone hooked on a new genre. Instead of complaining just don't reply, your burying the replies of people who actually want to partake in the discussion and it's pretty ♥♥♥♥♥♥.

No. Cuz im a music addict and love to hear other ppls suggestions if I like that genre to and just chat about music as you can see by my replys. I also make music, albeit it mostly involves the procedural generation of music and the editing thereof. That I would describe as more noise or dark ambient.

Point of the thread is to:
1. See how many people share similar taste as OP (look at all the love Prog Rock, Metal, Alt Rock get on this thread).
2. See how many people share the same taste in mediocre bland rock music. In every thread like this all over Steam, 85% of the people are going to post some version of Rock or Metal.
3. See how many people confuse 'music' with 'noise'.

Smashing Pumpkins
Everclear
Lana Del Rey

People probably post rock and metal because it's awesome. Rather that than some skinny drug addict mumbling in to a mic over a tinny beat.

Also The cranberries, Smashing Pumpkins and Everclear are rock bands.

I dont have irl friends anymore. I listen to strangers recommendations too. I love having friendly chats over web. I was wondering if there are some post rock fans so we could exchange recommendations and talk ciz listening to post rock is all I basically do. Idk how u dont get that. I cant rly explain it any simplerer.

Likely he knows what his friends like. Asking a bunch of people in OT can be a great way of getting ideas for bands/artists to listen to, they give a different perspective. Plus one can have a convo about it.
