Download speed if you have a 300/300 line?

Just wondered if anyone knows how quickly a game can download with such a line

Depends on the game.

A 300 Megabits line would get you roughly 37.5 Megabytes download speeds. You could probebly download a 10 GB game in less then 20 minutes (off the top of my head, very rought estimate with no numbers).

ISPs show speeds in bits. Steam often shows speeds in bytes. The big and little B make a diffrence.

It takes 8 Mb to make 1 MB.

The 300 is download, the 8 is upload.

so if you have a 300/300 line, you can download at 37.5 MB/s and upload at 37.5 MB/s.
Or a 300/8 line can download at 37.5 MB/s and upload at 1 MB/s.

i meand 300 divided on 8 = the download speed, the line will be 300/300

In addition to what Spawn of Totoro already said, keep in mind that bandwidth can vary plenty due to so many different factors. That is to say, don't expect to achieve the optimal rates that the medium of data transfer allows, especially as far as the internet is involved - there are numerous points of failure and a plethora of individual issues that each node in the series of tubes must face to get your data from point A to point B.
