How do YOU pronounce BETA?

A lot of people argue about pronouncing it like BEAT-A or BAY-TA, but actually, the true way to pronounce it is B-EH-TA because it's a Greek word, not an English word.

Beta isn't an acronym, which is why you can't find an answer. Alpha, Beta, Gamma, Delta are the testing phases in software development (though only alpha and beta see mainstream use these days) which are the first four letters of the Greek alphabet. There isn't any more to it than that.

Though Fallout76 called their beta "break-it Early Test Application" which is slightly amusing considering how the game ended up launching.

Since there is a fish known a Betta Fish which is pronounced as "bay-ta". So whenever someone says "bay-ta" I immediately think of the fish. Though taking Latin probably made me biased lol.

In Greece we call it Vee-ta (I am Greek :))
