What do CSGO skin makers use when drawing the skins?
I know how to make skins and everything, but what tools do they use when drawing ON the skin or the texture for it? I doubt its only photoshop...

Use Blender. I'm thinking about making skins as well.

My dude i know how to make skins no need to send a tutorial, im just wondering do people really draw complex stuff on Photoshop? For Example look at the Assimov collection, i doubt that is made in photoshop, or Fuel Injector.

Perhaps you can edit a skin on photoshop or paint.net and apply it on Blender?

For most of my skin making i use 3dcoat, since it is very easy but only usefull for simple skins. (Check my profile for what skins i made using that, very simple)

3Dcoat? Is it free? I'd like to check that out, actually. I'll also check out your skins.

(Nice skins, I checked them out).

You can try it out for free 30 days, yet its really simple and makes good results. For example my tec-9 skin is made purely there. They have a ton of textures you can place on guns. (Also you can add custom mud stains, scars and stuff, very cool)

Nice! Sounds easier than Blender (Where you can make scars and scratches, it's a lot harder for beginners like me). The thing I like about Blender though, is that there's more creative freedom. It's just a steep learning slope. And it's completely free.

Exactly. Thats why i sticked with 3dcoat, it is was simpler, yet has very good results. Also my five seven is done on 3dcoat, from scratch.

That's cool and all, but this thread is over two years old....

That being said, thanks for the advice. I might consider using some of this at some point in the future.
