Dynamic or Static IP?
Would you prefer Static or Dynamic Internet Protocol and why?
I personally want a Dynamic since it changes and it is harder for anyone to track you down.

So static IP then? Hosting servers need an IP that can maintain itself so i don't think you want Dynamic IP for that

If your network owns less than 5 PCs and/or Laptops and/or Smartphones, so static. Your internal and external IPs are 2 different kinds. Your external IP usually changes automatically.

Well, if a player/hacker tracked your external IP and entered your network, your internal IP, if static or dynamic, will be useless at all.

Dynamic. Easier to change IP address if there is a need to.

I would only use static if I was running a server of some kind at home.

Is there a way to tell when will your IP automatically change without rebooting your router? Like a certain amount of time such as a wekk or a month before a dynamic IP change itself.

We used to have dynamic, then they changed to static when we got fiber.

I prefer dynamic though.

Enter your router. There are options especially for this.

You usually enter your router via a browser by entering "192.168.2.1". If this is not the case, enter "cmd.exe" via your Windows Start Button and type "ipconfig -all" and search for "Standard Gateway".

Prof. Dr. Google helps ya, too.

There is no set time by the ISP, it just happens. That may be on an ISP basis though, so you should contact them and ask.
