I said if it was legal to do so, not if the general public support it. Also it would probably differ by country, so the UK would really be campaigning against it while Japan would be likely funding it.

The general public would have to support it, if it were to happen. One reason it wouldn't.

Japan would be one of the least likely to actualy do it. Anime is considered childish there and most adults wouldn't consider such genetic manipulation an option.

Remember, there is a huge difference between reality and an anime here. If cat girls did exists, imagine how much like a real cat they would be. Lazy, relying on their "owner", hissing and scratching things up, ect. It wouldn't be like in an anime at all.

It seams strange that some people are drawing neko people with 4 ears, it should be two (if it is a costume of couse inside the universe).
